WHY SHOULD I USE MICROLON?
Because friction is your engine’s number one enemy. Microlon is a metal treatment that nearly eliminates most of the friction of your engine’s moving parts. Friction steals a huge amount of power from your engine. Removing the friction of your engine’s moving metal parts by using Microlon’s patented metal treatment unlocks your engine’s power to perform better than you’ve ever imagined.
Less friction means you get much better gas mileage, increased horsepower, less oil consumption, and almost no wear and tear on your engine. One treatment of Microlon to your engine will last the lifetime of your engine and, at the same time, make your engine last up to 40% longer than without Microlon treatment.
WHAT IMMEDIATE BENEFITS I CAN EXPECT FROM MICROLON?
An engine treated by Microlon will save you money four ways — and increase your engine’s power
Increases fuel economy by up to 20% and more – up to 40% + with diesel engines

Microlon is a one-time engine treatment that allows you to enjoy the benefits of a fuel-efficient and more powerful vehicle from a one-time investment.
WHAT ABOUT OTHER PRODUCTS THAT MAKE SIMILAR CLAIMS?
Microlon is simply not like other products. Microlon is not an oil or fuel additive, not a special lubricant, not an add-on device for your engine. Microlon is a one-of-a-kind patented formula developed for eliminating friction in engines; but not in the way a lubricant works. It has been used for years in aviation, formula racing, heavy equipment operation, over-the-road diesel trucks and many other places where friction-reduction is necessary for the very highest engine performance possible. No other product can make that claim.
Microlon is a one-time permanent treatment of an engine’s moving parts. Microlon treats the metal-to-metal moving parts that create friction in your engine, and it virtually eliminates it. No other product can do that.
And, unlike other products, Microlon lasts for the life of the engine.
Microlon won the
“Medaille De Vermeil”
at the
“Salon Internationale des Techniques Nouvelles”
in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1978, for being first among its class of new product innovations.
This was only the 7th time in 100 years that this award has been made.
No other product can match that.
Microlon CL-100 was approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (the FAA) in May 1979, accepted for use in aircraft engines up to 1000 C.I.D. Microlon has been used consistently in aviation engines and moving parts for more than 25 years.
DOES MICROLON’S EFFICIENCY REDUCE EXHAUST EMMISSIONS?
YES IT DOES! Microlon is environmentally safe and it drastically Reduces Exhaust Emissions. The following Emission Reductions are the results of tests conducted by California Environmental Testing Labs. In this study, Microlon was used in Gas Engnes. Results are per the United States Environmental Protection Agency published Federal Register:
Microlon reduces Hydrocarbon emissions by 24.9%
Microlon reduces Carbon Monoxide emissions by 43.8%
Microlon reduces Nitrous Oxide emissions by 21.4%
These are well under the established limits for Emissions. The study findings also showed “an increase in fuel economy.” This has enabled Microlon to be listed on “Buy-Boards” for government and government contractors’ purchasing.
HOW MUCH INCREASED FUEL ECONOMY WILL I GET?
We conservatively estimate 10% to 20% in Fuel Savings, although there are documented cases of much greater Fuel savings. Although the exact amount of Fuel Savings achieved from using Microlon Metal Treatment can not be determined because every Engine is different and every driver is unique, we know that under nearly any condition Fuel Savings will be at least 10%, and the friction-reducing benefits of Microlon Increases Horsepower and Improves Gas Mileage (increasing the miles per gallon for automobile users and decreasing gallons per hour for aviation users). The advantages that Microlon offers are numerable if your livelihood depends on your EngineÕs Performance. If you drive hard because Power is what you want from Microlon, then you will definitely get the Increased Car Horsepower, but you will make some trade-off in your Fuel Savings.
HOW LONG WILL THE MICROLON TREATMENT LAST?
The Microlon film will last for the life of your engine unless it is intentionally removed. Microlon penetrates the pore structure of the metal and becomes an integral part of the metal. This makes your engine’s metal surfaces super-slick. In a properly treated engine all wear happens on Microlon-to-Microlon surfaces instead of metal-to-metal surfaces. This is how it reduces friction. The micro-thin film can only be removed by machining it out or by heating the metal to 775° Fahrenheit. In the unlikely event that the film is damaged by anything that makes it past the air filter, the Microlon film has a self-healing property that will self-repair thin spots or scuffs automatically. Millions of engines are performing as well today as when they were first treated.
CAN MICROLON HARM AN ENGINE?
There is nothing in the formula or the process of a Microlon treatment that can be harmful to any engine in any way. Microlon has never had a damage complaint about any of its products in the company’s history. Not one. Not ever. But, you are a valued customer and Microlon and Gas-Miser have full faith in these products, so we are proud to offer our customers a three-year unconditional money-back guarantee. We want you to feel completely comfortable using Microlon even though you’ll never have to use our guarantee.
WILL MICROLON VOID MY WARRANTY?
No. A federal consumer protection law, the Moss-Magnusson Act, clearly states that to void a warranty the warrantor must show that a particular product’s use knowingly and purposely damaged an engine. If recommended lubricants are not used, many original equipment manufacturers threaten to ‘void their warranty.’ However, Microlon is not a lubricant, it is a metal treatment that enhances a lubricant’s abilities. So that is not an issue in any warranty’s coverage.
Microlon cannot damage an engine simply because it cannot be improperly used. Microlon can be mis-installed, half-installed, installed completely wrong, spilled on your driveway – it doesn’t matter. It cannot hurt your engine or any of its parts. The Microlon CL-100 aircraft engine treatment has been accepted for use in aircraft engines by the FAA since May 1979. There has never been a damage claim against any Microlon products.
HOW LONG WILL MICROLON EXTEND THE LIFE OF AN ENGINE?
Oil analysis reports consistently show wear in an untreated engine to be an average of 75% to 100% greater than that of an engine treated with Microlon. We can quote from the magazine “Aviation Consumer” all the way back to their June 1, 1978 issue, which reported on tests conducted by Caterpillar. These tests showed an estimated increase of expected engine life of between 20% and 40%. But engines are being built better now, and that only means Microlon probably exceeds those estimated increases in engine life.
WILL MICROLON STOP AN ENGINE FROM BURNING OIL?
Microlon will reduce oil consumption by burning oil if the problem is caused by sticking rings from deposits of carbon and varnish which have formed on the rings or ring grooves. These deposits slow down or stop normal ring action allowing oil leaks into the cylinder head. The cleansing component in Microlon’s formula removes these deposits and leaves behind the Microlon film which helps your engine run smoothly and efficiently. This will reduce oil consumption and actually improve your engine’s condition and performance.
DO I USE MICROLON ON EVERY OIL CHANGE?
No. Microlon is a ONE-TIME metal treatment for your engine. It is not an oil treatment or additive. Microlon is a one-time investment in the life of your vehicle.
DOES THE OIL HAVE TO BE CHANGED BEFORE TREATMENT?
Due to the tremendous cleansing action of Microlon, deposits of carbon and varnish are put into suspension in the lubrication system. These by-products of imperfect combustion may put a burden on the filtering system. So it is advisable, especially in older engines, to change the oil before treating your engine with Microlon.
HOW MUCH MICROLON DOES MY ENGINE NEED?
Microlon treats the metal surfaces in your engine, so it depends on the engine size and its cylinder’s displacement (cubic inches). The amounts of Microlon necessary vary according to engine size. The greater the number of cubic inches of displacement, the greater the surface-area of metal in need of Treatment.
There is no difference in the product formulation regardless of the kind of engine. Only the volume required to coat the interior moving parts of an engine matters. The bigger the engine displacement, the more product required. Remember Microlon is a metal treatment for an engine — the kind of engine doesn’t make any difference; just its size. So Microlon offers specific packages measured for all engine sizes and displacements.
Microlon treats your engine by two means: a small portion goes in with the fuel to serve the upper engine parts; and the greater portion of Microlon liquid goes into the crankcase to treat the major parts of the engine and crankcase where most of the engine’s moving parts are located.
Gasoline engines in cars and light trucks require your selection between two sizes. One product package is for the moving parts of gasoline engines having a displacement less than 350 cu. in. The other is a slightly larger volume package for engines having more than 350 cu. in.
Diesel engine packages are available for the many different sizes of diesel engines in cars and light trucks up to the large diesel engines of over-the-road tractor-trailer rigs, and heavy equipment with standard, super-charged and turbo-charged engines. When ordering for diesel, be sure the product number is matched with your engine size. Under-treating your engine will not harm the engine but it will not enable your engine to gain the most advantage. Over-treating won’t hurt anything, it just wastes product and your money.
WHY DO DIESEL ENGINES REQUIRE MORE PRODUCT THAN GAS ENGINES?
Microlon resin is driven deeper into the pore structure of the metal by the higher compression of diesel engines. The benefits of the Microlon film come from Microlon-to-Microlon contact inside of the engine. The Microlon film on the surface of the moving metal parts protects the engine components from wear and makes them super-slick – nearly friction-free. So more is required to adequately form the film on these high compression engines. Turbo-charged and super-turbo-charged diesel engines have even higher than normal compression and require more product than regular diesel engines.
HOW LONG DO I LEAVE MICROLON IN BEFORE CHANGING MY OIL?
The Microlon film fully forms within 1,000 miles (1,600 km) driven. Time and engine heat is needed for the Microlon resin to be burnished into the pore structure of the metal and form the protective micro-thin film. At this point, you should check your oil. If the Microlon cleaning treatment has removed deposits from your engine, the oil will be dirty and should be changed to prevent stress on your filtering system. Any unused Microlon resin will come out with the dirty oil.
CAN I INSTALL MICROLON IN MY ENGINE BY MYSELF?
Yes, you can easily install Microlon in your engine right in your own driveway. It is a simple procedure that takes about 40 minutes. First, your engine must be up to its normal operating temperature when you treat it. Then just pour the amount specified into gas tank and the specified amount into your oil fill tube.
Correctly installing Microlon requires only three steps.
Your engine must have been running and be up to its normal running temperature. This is usually accomplished by driving your vehicle for ten minutes or so.
You then pour-in the well-shaken Microlon formula while the engine is still at operating temperature. This takes maybe five minutes.
After installation of the product, drive your vehicle for about twenty minutes at its normal operating temperature (attained before the product was installed). The heat of your engine at its normal operating temperature must be maintained for this time period in order for the Microlon resin to be embedded into the steel surfaces to fully coat all moving parts. It is recommended that diesel engines be driven about a thousand miles (1,600 km) for it to reach 100% of its operating advantage.
And there you have it. In less than 40 minutes you have the most effective engine protection and performance improvement available anywhere – for the lifetime of your engine.
WHY DO I PUT MICROLON IN THE FUEL?
The Microlon added to the fuel treats the top part of the engine – cylinders, heads, and valves. Microlon added to the oil in the crankcase treats the rest of the engine. Microlon is a metal treatment so the fluid in which it is used – gasoline, oil, diesel fuels — makes no difference. Microlon is compatible with these fluids and they are only used to carry the Microlon resin to all of the surfaces reached by those fluids – fuel and oil.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO OVERTREAT AN ENGINE?
No. When the micro-thin film has formed and no more resin can be embedded into the surface of the metal, the rest of the Microlon resin will hang in suspension until your next oil change when it goes out with the waste oil. Additional treatments will not form a better film than the first one, so continually re-treating an engine will not overtreat it, but it will be a waste of money.
DOES MICROLON ONLY WORK IN ENGINES?
Microlon can be used anywhere it would be beneficial to reduce friction. For more than 30 years, Microlon has marketed a product called ‘Gun Juice’ which you may be familiar with if you are a hunter or sport-shooter. It is formulated for use inside the barrels and actions of firearms making it friction-free and virtually impossible for a firearm to jam, while also increasing muzzle velocity because of the super-slick interior of the barrel.
Microlon can be used on any friction-bearing surface from bicycle chains, squeaky hinges and pocket knives to hydraulic systems and moving parts on such precision machines as printing presses, or small engines running compressors and on machine tools requiring high, sustained cutting-pressure.
It has been noted by Frank R. Lindsey, Machining Operations Manager of Moog, Inc., Aerospace Division, that Microlon has resulted in the most significant gains in overall technology and productivity since the introduction of carbide tooling.
If you are a trucker and operate a refrigeration unit on your truck, treating the refrigeration unit’s moving parts will save fuel and give you back the power taken from your engine by operation of the refrigeration unit. If you also have air-conditioning, treat your compressor and its moving parts, as well, for even more power directed back to your drive-train.
Note From the Department of Energy:
Only about 15% of the energy in your fuel gets used to move your vehicle down the road.
That sounds unbelievable. But it’s true according to many government and independent test findings published by the U. S. Department of Energy. Sad but true: internal combustion engines are inefficient.
But the simple reason is that the energy is lost from friction of the engine and drive train’s moving parts and accessories: refrigeration units, air-conditioning and pumping air into and out of the engine.
But there’s good news, too.
All of the areas that waste energy are opportunities for the advanced technology of Microlon to increase fuel economy and power.
The laws of physics won’t permit all these losses to be totally eliminated. But improvements are possible at every step by using Microlon metal treatment.
What if Microlon could give back just 3 to 5% of each loss?
Those small increases add-up to 25-40% gains in fuel use and power for the road. They’re proven in real-life tests by Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel Allison in city buses, school buses, over-the-road freight haulers, aircraft, heavy equipment and other engine needs.
CAN I SPLIT A LARGE CONTAINER OF MICROLON TO TREAT SEVERAL SMALL ENGINES?
Yes. Keep in mind, inexact measuring can result in an under-treatment which might keep the Microlon film from forming evenly, or over-treatment which could result in wasted money. Microlon suggests purchasing the recommended amount of product required to treat a specific engine or piece of equipment. Microlon packages its products in sizes from 1 ounce containers to 55 gallon drums. Find the correct amount for your Gasoline Engine or Diesel Engine.
CAN I USE MICROLON IN TWO CYCLE ENGINES?
Yes. The Microlon film reduces friction and enhances performance in all sizes and types of engines. Treating a two-cycle engine with Microlon is easier than treating other types of engines because a two-cycle engine does not require separate amounts in the oil and fuel since they are already combined. Just follow the product instructions issued by Microlon pouring it in with the normal oil-fuel mix ratio you now use.
HOW MUCH DIFFERENCE CAN MICROLON MAKE ON A NEW ENGINE?
In new engines, Microlon acts as a preventative maintenance measure. But even in a new engine, the durable Microlon film will increase efficiency, giving greater fuel economy or greater horse power than would exist without it. The longer an engine runs, the greater the dramatic increase in its performance. The more problems an engine has the greater difference Microlon can make.
DOES THE MICROLON FILM DETERIORATE FROM HIGH TEMPERATURES OR ACIDS FOUND IN THE ENGINE?
No. The Microlon film is resistant to harmful chemicals and acids and it will withstand continuous operating temperatures much higher than those present in an engine.
DOES AN ALUMINUM BLOCK ENGINE REQUIRE ADDITIONAL PRODUCT?
Yes. Microlon resin fills in the pore structure of the metal inside of the engine. It is important to note that aluminum has a much more open pore-structure than steel, so more of the Microlon resin is required to fill in the surface of the metal and form the Microlon film. The key to the Microlon effect is the film formed by it and it simply takes more product to fill in the pore structure of the metal in an aluminum engine block to offer an efficiently consistent film on the moving parts.
HOW IS AN ENGINE TREATED IF IT HAS A FRANTZ-TYPE OIL FILTER?
Some of the larger particles of the Microlon resin may not pass through the Frantz-type oil filter. This Frantz-type cartridge must be removed or by-passed during the treatment period to avoid a possible loss of some of the particulate. Nothing in the Microlon treatment is larger than 5 microns, however.
